Welcome to Shamgar Ben-Eliyahu’s neuro-immunology lab at the Sagol School of Neuroscience and School of Psychological Sciences, Tel-Aviv University, Israel.

Our lab focuses on the complex relationships between stress, the endocrine system, the immune system, and cancer progression, in both animals and humans. We also study unique anti-metastatic immune cell populations, and their inherent special ability to destroy tumor cells. Within the fields of “Perioperative treatment of cancer patients” and “PsychoNeuroImmunology”, we devise and test interventions to improve long-term survival, especially in cancer patients undergoing surgery for removal of a primary tumor.
